Tim Robbins plays Andy Dufresne who is wrongly convicted of killing his wife but is sent to prison for two life term sentences. Whilst in prison, Andy struggles early on to cope but soon befriends a long term prisoner named Ellis Boyd "Red" Redding, (Morgan Freeman) who teaches him about prison life. They soon become friends and Andy becomes more likeable to the prison warden who is a corrupt warden that cannot be trusted. The movie gives us a deep incite into the pain and hardship of prison life and deals well with the subject of being institutionalized and has a strong message of hope especially in adverse situations. ...
